When the familiar calls you Home
When it stings, when it feels uncomfortable, when everything is telling you this isn't the way, sit with it if the intention is good.
Breaking the familial chains, breaking generational bullshit, compassion in place of callousness, mutual respect instead of a fear based dictatorship. Where communication, honesty and self reliance are the principals and not respect for authority, "because I said so mentality," or the worse yet the guilt ridden you are a disappointment.
If it feels uncomfortable, it fucking is because it's everything contradictory to what you survived. You are fostering a better, healthier world for yourself and those that follow. But some days the weight of it all, it would be easier to fall back to everything that seems second nature.
Not the way, but fuck does it feel like it could be easier.
